When is the Right Time to Replace your Biomass Boiler?
This is a question we are often asked and our engineers are often posed. When should you replace your biomass boiler?
Of course, in an ideal world the answer is; if you properly maintain and service your biomass boiler, then replacement should be a last resort. Or many years down the line when your original boiler (even at maximum efficiency) just isn’t up to the standard of newer counterparts.
But we know, as do you, that the world is not a simple and ideal place and things will happen that will bring your existing boiler’s suitability into question. So, in this article, we have given you a few indications on when you may need to replace your biomass boiler.
YOU HAVE NOT HAD A YEARLY SERVICE
If your biomass boiler has been allowed to run without a yearly service or maintenance carried out by an Innasol certified partner or Innasol service engineer, then its efficiency will likely be severely hampered.
Bringing it back to it’s early-stage output and fuel consumption levels will be very difficult, if not impossible. And, as time goes on, this situation will only get worse and your boiler will only become less and less efficient.
If you are in this situation, then you’re probably going to have to consider replacing your boiler.
YOU HAVE HAD YOUR BIOMASS BOILER SERVICED BY A NON-INNASOL ACCREDITED ENGINEER
If you took the step of having an engineer, not from Innasol or one of our partners, look at your ETA biomass boiler to service it, then you will have voided the warranty. Or, if you’ve not had it serviced, this will also void the warranty.
This will mean that your boiler is no longer covered for breakdowns or other issues. What this translates to is, if your boiler goes wrong, you will have to pay full price for parts, repairs and engineer time. But, if you decide to replace your boiler with us we can keep you on the same tariff you presently enjoy.

YOUR BIOMASS BOILER IS OLD
If you have had a boiler for more than five years, then its warranty has already expired and, even if you have had regular services done, it will naturally be falling behind the more modern boilers.

With new and exciting advancements being made year on year, improvements in efficiency, lifetime, automatic cleaning, remote-access diagnostics and much more, the newer boilers are continually pushing the boundaries ever further.
YOUR BOILER ISN’T AN ETA BIOMASS BOILER
If you had a biomass boiler installed that was not an ETA, then it may already be lagging. This means that your RHI payments will be lower, your servicing will be more regular, and your energy efficiency will be negatively impacted.
