A home in home in Bala, North Wales, was using a log boiler for its heating. Unfortunately, the system was a cheap design, which was now past its useful life and horribly unreliable. It regularly failed and left the house cold, so the owners began the search for a renewable heating engineer who could offer meaningful advice and a new system that could bring sustainable heat back to the building.
Finding a green energy expert
The home owners knew they needed to choose the best system for their house, in order to maximise the reliability, sustainability, and cost savings that the new boiler could offer. Knowing what to choose required a consultation from a green heating professional who could assess the building and the family’s heat requirements, and suggest a system to suit.
After a lengthy search, in which the owners found and dismissed many potential installers, they trusted the expertise of North Wales Biomass. In the words of the home owner, ‘I found them extremely responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. I appreciated that they were willing to listen to what I was looking for and did not try to
push a system that was not suitable for my needs.’
The new boiler
After discussion with Tom Brereton, Director of North Wales Biomass, the home owners decided that the best replacement for their old boiler was an ETA PU15 pellet boiler, and the installation was complete in about a week. Now that the owners have a wood heat boiler that operate efficiently and reliably, and they can be confident of having heating and hot water in their house once again, with low carbon emissions and low running costs.
After two years, the client reports that, ‘It has performed flawlessly. It is a substantial improvement over the old log boiler that I had previously, and it works with very low maintenance and effort,’ and that they are, ‘delighted with the end result’.
