WHAT ARE HEAT PODS?
Heat pods, prefabricated structures housing biomass boilers and fuel, allow a simple, low-maintenance solution for installing biomass heating. The prefabricated pods house biomass boilers and fuel, providing a simple, low-maintenance solution for protecting your boiler.
Biomass boilers are significantly larger than standard gas or oil boilers. Heat pods typically replace oil heating at off-grid locations and take up less room than an oil tank and boiler combined, since the heat pod is self-contained in one location.
Most properties must put biomass boilers outside because there is insufficient interior room. As a result, they naturally need protection from the elements. Large storage sheds or permanent shelters on farms or commercial units can often fit them. But at residential homes or smaller office buildings, this is rarely an option.
The options are constructing a custom shelter or using specialised heating pods.
WHY CHOOSE HEAT PODS?
As already mentioned, heating pods are prefabricated and designed specifically for the purpose of housing biomass boilers. They have access hatches and doors located in the necessary places, chimney exits, and ventilation already considered and built in. Additionally, they have pre-made fuel storage areas, designed for simple, easy use and fuel filling.
If a contractor built a biomass boiler shelter, they would have to accommodate ventilation, chimneys, cutting and fitting roof sections, and source and measure materials, passing these costs to you.
When it comes to simple cost, a heat pod is by far the better choice.
