Custom Precision Joinery were spending in excess of £10,000 on fuel for their current setup with a look at expansion in the form of a finishing shop and drying room. The nature of the business meant they had an abundant supply of waste wood which was ideal for a biomass wood chip boiler. With this in mind, they required a system capable of using the waste wood while simultaneously reducing fuel bills.
SOLUTION:
The solution provided by AFS Biomass was an ETA Hack 350kW biomass wood chip boiler. This was connected to a silo that the Precision Joinery had purposely built for the wood chip fuel. The chipper and extractor would blow the waste wood directly into the silo, ready for the boiler to use as fuel.

The biomass system was beneficial because they no longer needed to send their waste wood to landfills, which is a saving. Secondly, they have reduced their fossil fuel bill by using their waste wood for heating and no longer require fossil fuel heating systems. In addition, they now have heating in their main factory and a new finishing shop and drying room.
The installation of the ETA Hack 350kW biomass wood chip boiler was a successful solution for Custom Precision Joinery. It allowed them to utilize their waste wood and reduce fuel bills; it also helped them to reduce their carbon footprint and to have heating in their expansion places.
